Carbon Neutral Indiana can help households, organizations, and events become carbon neutral. For example, we’ve helped the Indianapolis Zoo make some of their events carbon neutral. This requires:
- Measuring the carbon footprint of the event
- Offsetting that footprint by donating to third party verified carbon projects

Offsetting that Footprint
To balance out emissions associated with this event, Carbon Neutral Indiana is financing the removal of 3 tons of CO2e by helping to reforest urban Des Moines, Iowa.
The Growing Futures program employs youth to plant trees in underserved communities in Des Moines. This project is verified through the City Forest Credits registry.
